FAQ - Wedding photography
Whether you're planning a wedding, dreaming of a secret proposal, or just want beautiful photos of your family before the kids grow up too fast – you probably have a lot of questions. That's completely normal. I get them every day, and honestly? I love them. No question is too small or too silly.
So here's my honest, no-fluff guide from Prague wedding photographer to everything people ask me most. Grab a coffee. Let's talk. ☕
How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer?
As soon as you have a date and a venue, start looking. The best photographers (not just me – anyone you love!) tend to get booked 6 to 12 months in advance, especially for peak season (May–September). The earlier you reach out, the better – but if your date is coming up sooner, don't panic and just drop me a message anyway. If your wedding is sooner, don't panic – just reach out. I always try to find a way to make it work.
What is documentary-style wedding photography?
Documentary photography (also called reportage or photojournalism style) means I don't direct you into stiff poses. Instead, I blend into the background, observe, and capture what's actually happening – the laughter, the tears, the chaos of getting ready, the quiet moment between you two before the ceremony. Real moments, not catalogue shots.
Do we need to do a pre-wedding shoot?
I always recommend it – and it's included in my two larger packages. Here's why: it's a chance for us to get comfortable together before the big day. You'll feel more relaxed in front of the camera, and I'll learn how you move, how you laugh, what makes you both light up. The photos are always beautiful, but the real value is the confidence it gives you on your wedding day.
How many photos will we receive?
Depending on the package, you'll receive a minimum of 280 to 700 carefully edited images. I never just hand over a raw dump of every single click – but I also never hold back the good ones. Every image that tells your story makes it into the gallery.
How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?
You'll get a sneak peek of 30–50 images within 48 hours – yes, really. I know you'll be dying to share something with your family straight away. The full gallery is delivered within 4–6 weeks.
Do you travel for destination weddings?
I'm based in Prague but work across Europe. And absolutely love to travel – it's one of my favourite things. Working regularly across Europe: Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland and beyond. Travel within 100km of Prague is included in every wedding package. For destination weddings, we simply sort out travel costs together – no surprises.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We work with it. Rain makes for some of the most beautiful, dramatic, intimate photos I've ever taken. I always have a plan B for locations and lighting. A little rain never ruined a love story. 🌧️
Can we give you a shot list?
Of course. Family group photos especially benefit from a clear list so nobody gets missed. For the rest of the day, I prefer to stay free and observant rather than ticking boxes, because the best moments are always the ones nobody planned.
Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?
With great joy. All couples are welcome, all love stories celebrated. 🏳️🌈
What are your wedding photography packages and prices?
As a Prague-based wedding photographer, I offer three packages for Czech Republic.
• The Essentials – 6 hours, 1 photographer, min. 280 images – from CZK 24,900 / approx. €1,050
• The Memoir – 10 hours, pre-wedding session, min. 500 images – from CZK 44,900 / approx. €1,850

How do we book you and what is the payment process?
Simply reach out via my contact form or book a free 15-minute call. Once we've confirmed everything, a retainer fee of CZK 15,000 / €500 is due at signing to secure your date. The remaining balance is due 10 days before your wedding.
Do you offer wedding albums?
Yes! A luxury canvas photobook (30×30cm, 40 pages) can be added to any package for €300. The most popular option is the set of three albums – one for the newlyweds and two parent-sized books – for €550. Parents absolutely love them. It's one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give.
FAQ - Secret Proposal
Can you photograph a secret proposal without my partner noticing?
That's exactly what I specialise in, as a proposal photographer Prague. I arrive early, find a discreet position, and blend in completely – sometimes as a tourist, sometimes just someone sitting on a bench with a camera. Your partner will have no idea. And the moment they say yes? I'll be there to capture every second of it.
How do I plan a secret proposal shoot with you?
It's easier than you think. You reach out to me, we agree on a location and time, and I handle the rest. I'll scout the spot in advance, we'll stay in touch, and on the day, I'll be invisible until the magic happens.
Where are the best places for a proposal in Prague?
Prague is full of stunning proposal spots. Some of my favourites:
- Letná Park – panoramic views over the city, especially beautiful at sunset
- Charles Bridge – classic, romantic, timeless, early morning visits
- Vrtba Garden – hidden gem, incredibly romantic
- Vyšehrad – quieter than the centre, gorgeous views
- Prague Castle area – dramatic backdrop, especially early in the morning
- and more secret places
Every proposal is different though – I love helping couples find a spot that feels personal to them, not just "touristy".
What if the proposal doesn't go to plan?
In my experience, the "unplanned" moments are often the most beautiful. If something goes differently than expected, I adapt. I've photographed proposals in the rain, proposals where someone almost dropped the ring, proposals where the person proposing was so nervous they could barely speak. Every single one was perfect in its own way.
How much does proposal photography cost?
Proposal photography packages start from €250 for a 1-hour session. Get in touch for full details and availability – I'll always try to work within your plans and budget. The full package with detailed planning from A - Z cost €450.
FAQ - Family Photography
My kids never cooperate for photos. Will this still work?
This is the question I get most often – and my answer is always the same: yes, absolutely. I'm a mum of three. I know exactly how kids work, and I don't try to fight it. We don't do stiff poses in front of a backdrop. We go for a walk, get ice cream, play at the playground, or just hang out at home. The kids forget I'm even there – and that's when the real magic happens.
Where do family photo sessions take place?
Wherever feels most like you. Your home, your favourite park, a place that has meaning to your family. I don't have a "standard location" – I tailor every session to the family I'm photographing. If you're not sure, I'm happy to suggest somewhere beautiful near you.
How long is a family photo session?
Sessions are 1 to 1.5 hours – relaxed, no rush, no pressure. That's usually plenty of time to capture everything we need, with room for a snack break, a tantrum or two, and a few spontaneous moments that turn into your favourite photos.
How many photos will we receive?
A minimum of 60 carefully edited images, delivered within 1–3 weeks. If I capture more great moments – and I usually do – you get them all. I never keep the good ones in a drawer.
What are the family photography packages?
Session – Just Digital – 1–1.5 hours, min. 60 edited images, online gallery – CZK 7,900 / €330
Session with Prints (most popular) – everything above + a touching slideshow video + 10 prints (13×19cm) – CZK 8,500 / €350
Session with Album – everything above + a flatlay canvas photoalbum (20×20cm, 20 pages) – CZK 10,500 / €430
Do you photograph newborns and pregnancies?
Yes – these are some of my most treasured sessions. There is something so fleeting and precious about those early days and the anticipation before a baby arrives. I approach these sessions with the same gentle, unhurried style as all my family work.
What should we wear for a family photo session?
Wear what makes you feel like yourselves – comfortable, relaxed, a little coordinated. Avoid very busy patterns or logos. Soft, natural tones tend to photograph beautifully. And most importantly: dress for the weather and wear shoes you can actually walk in. 😄
Can grandparents or extended family join the session?
Of course! Just let me know in advance so I can plan the session accordingly. The more the merrier – some of my favourite photos are big, chaotic, joyful family gatherings.
FAQ - General Questions
What is your photography style?
Documentary, natural, warm. I observe rather than direct. I wait for real moments rather than creating artificial ones. My photos have a timeless, film-inspired quality – not heavily filtered or over-edited. I want you to look at them in 20 years and feel exactly what you felt in that moment.
Do you edit all the photos?
Yes – every single image in your gallery is carefully edited. I adjust light, colour, and tone to match my signature style. I don't do heavy retouching (removing wrinkles, changing body shapes etc.) – I believe in capturing people as they truly are, beautifully.
What camera equipment do you use?
I shoot with professional full-frame Canon cameras and a selection of prime lenses that are perfect for natural light and low-light situations. I always bring backup equipment to every session – because nothing is left to chance on your important day.
Do you speak English?
Fluently – along with Czech and basic Spanish. So wherever your story takes us, we'll be absolutely fine. 😊
How do I receive my photos?
Through a beautiful, private online gallery that you can share with family and friends. The gallery is available for one year with social-media-ready versions of every image ready to download. Print size images will receive bride and groom.
What areas do you cover?
I'm based in Prague and work throughout the Czech Republic and across Europe. Whether you're getting married in Tuscany, or just want family photos in your Prague apartment – I'm in.
I still have questions. How do I get in touch?
The easiest way is to book a free, no-obligation 15-minute call – we'll have a relaxed chat, you can ask me anything, and we'll figure out if we're a good fit. No pressure, no hard sell. Just two people talking about what matters to you.
